Duryea’s Lobster Deck in Montauk is one of the most picturesque settings to dine in the Hamptons while enjoying fresh seafood. We loved its original incarnation as a salt of the earth establishment many years ago, but equally love its rebirth as a venue that channels the casual elegance of a beach club in Saint Tropez.

For our lunch at Duryea’s, we ordered the Montauk Pearl Oysters, as well as the Crudités Platter, made with sensational local vegetables accompanied by an olive tapenade and Dijon dip. For our main dishes, our group enjoyed steamed lobster served with corn on the cob, as well as its signature lobster rolls made with a half-pound of lobster meat and served with addicting sweet potato chips.

The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but has an excellent system where you can check your place in line using a link they text your cell phone. Expect to pay Hamptons’ prices, but in our opinion, it’s well worth it. If there is a wait for a table, you can cozy up to the indoor bar, which boasts an impressive selection of rosé wine or take a walk next door to Duryea’s Market and check out its selection of fresh produce and gourmet items, as well as chic collections of clothes, accessories, and home goods.
