If you are looking for some of the best Italian food in the Hamptons, we suggest you hurry over to Tutto Il Giorno in Sag Harbor or Southampton. We had a sensational dinner al fresco at its Sag Harbor location recently and enjoyed, for appetizers, the Tonno (spicy tuna tartare, marinated cucumber, and avocado) and the Parmigiana (eggplant, San Marzano tomatoes, and smoked Provola). For our main courses, we were eager to try the restaurant’s “Slow Dried Artigianal Pasta from Gragnano (Sorrento) Italy.” Our party loved the Paccheri (classic Neapolitan beef ragù, provolone, and herbs), the Tortellacci (Caprese style, mozzarella, shrimp, shishito peppers, and fresh tomato), and the Rigatoni (tomato, veal, beef, spicy sausage, peas, and a touch of cream). We sat at a beautiful long table in one of the patios that was decorated with vases and candleholders handmade in Ethiopia.

Gianpaolo de Felice and his wife, Gabby Karan de Felice, are the charismatic duo who opened the restaurant with partners Gally and David Mayer. Tutto Il Giorno’s Instagram feed is filled with lovely photos of Gabby and Gianpaolo that inspire a feeling of warmth and family.

After our delicious meal, we walked through the restaurant to the lifestyle store Urban Zen, which was created in partnership with Gabby and her mother, Donna Karan. Keeping with Tutto I’ll Giorno’s aesthetic, Urban Zen sells chic, globally-inspired styles made by artisans in Africa, Haiti, Papua New Guinea, and Uruguay. The visually intoxicating store transports you to another place.
