A pumpkin patch is the perfect reason to spend an October afternoon exploring the Hamptons. Across the South Fork, the options range from a quick stop at a neighborhood farmstand to a full day of mazes and wagon rides. Here’s where to go in 2026, plus one North Fork farm worth the drive.

The Milk Pail U-Pick Farm, Water Mill

The Milk Pail is the place to look for a pumpkin still on the vine. Its Water Mill fields grow more than 60 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds, and you can pick apples during the same visit. Head to the U-pick farm at 50 Horsemill Lane, which is separate from the Milk Pail market on Montauk Highway. The farm lists picking hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during September and October. Insider tip: Be sure to try their apple cider donuts.

Hank’s Pumpkintown, Water Mill

If the children want the whole outing, start at Hank’s. After choosing a pumpkin, they can tackle the corn mazes, take a wagon ride and head for the slides and play areas. Hank’s is open daily for its fall season, from September 19 through November 1. Insider tip: If possible, visit the farm on off hours to avoid the weekend crowds.
