On Friday, August 22, The Apollo Theater returns to the Hamptons for its first in-person fundraiser in the region since before the pandemic — an intimate evening of waterfront glamour at EHP Resort & Marina’s Sí Sí Mediterranean Restaurant in East Hampton.
The evening, Apollo in the Hamptons, will honor the iconic institution’s mission and support its Apollo Rising 2.0 Capital Campaign — a multi-year renovation of the legendary Harlem theater, set for completion in 2026. The transformation includes an expanded lobby with a bar and café, upgraded seating, modernized backstage spaces, restored marquee, and state-of-the-art lighting, acoustics, and technology.
Guests will begin the evening with a cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a seated dinner and dancing until 10:00 PM. Entertainment will be nothing short of spectacular, featuring DJ Cassidy, Doug E. Fresh, Crystal Waters, Chubb Rock, Dres, Wé Ani — 2015’s Amateur Night at The Apollo winner — and the Café Wha? Band.
This celebration also marks the start of a broader Weekend of Cultural Elevation, presented in collaboration with On Our Toes in the Hamptons, founded by Ronald K. Brown and EVIDENCE. The weekend will culminate at Guild Hall with a tribute to the rich tradition of Black dance and artistry — further underscoring The Apollo’s commitment to championing Black creative expression.
All proceeds from the evening will directly benefit The Apollo’s year-round artistic, educational, and community programming, ensuring that the institution continues to serve as a cultural touchstone for generations to come.
