A secret vineyard has been growing in the Hamptons — and Hamptons Social got a sneak peak of Bridgehampton Breeze this week. As we stepped onto the estate in Bridgehampton, we were blown away by the abundance of vines growing so close to the ocean. It felt like a slice of Tuscany.

We were treated to a lovely tasting of their wines. Their Summer Rosé blends the perfect notes of fresh crisp fruit that can only be produced on their unique Terroir of Bridgehampton Loam and the pristine sands of the Hamptons. The wine is stainless-steel fermented with a nose of peach and strawberry and a palette of melon and bright raspberry. It is both dry and fruity with a touch of sweetness that is perfect to enjoy daytime by the pool or in the evening over dinner. The vineyard also produces two types of Sauvignon Blanc. One is fermented in a barrel and the other in stainless steel. Both types are excellent paired with seafood.

After the tasting, we were given a ride in the vineyard’s bright pink Moke by the property’s owner, Dr. Barry Jacobson. He told us that before the vines were planted five years ago, a specialist tested the soil and told him the land was black gold. It was prime territory for creating a vineyard. Driving past the rows and rows of vines, we were in awe of what he had accomplished. It was truly magnificent.

This summer, Bridgehampton Breeze has received its distribution license and can be finally shared with the public. The wine is available for purchase online and in the Hamptons at select restaurants and wine stores.
