Babe's Diner Sag Harbor

Sag Harbor is getting a new all-day destination this spring. Babe’s Diner, “A Finer Diner,” opens mid-May at 51 Division Street, led by husband-and-wife team Julian Cavin and Martine Langatta in partnership with Jonny Shipes and Arielle Justine.

The concept blends classic diner staples with a local, ingredient-driven approach. The menu spans breakfast through dinner, with dishes such as breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, cheeseburgers, tuna melts, triple decker club sandwiches, and Greek and Caesar salads. Milkshakes come in chocolate, vanilla, and banana. Babe’s will be open seven days a week from 7am to 10pm.

By night, the space shifts into a supper club format. The team plans a series of tasting menu dinners during peak summer weekends, inviting chefs and creators from New York City and around the country.

“In addition to our normal service, Babe’s will be hosting restaurants and creators from New York City and around the country for tasting menu style dinners during peak summer weekends. We are looking to curate a family friendly spot during the day, with a supper club in the evening worthy of hiring a babysitter,” said Julian Cavin.

The Sag Harbor Supper Club will launch Memorial Day weekend with Eric Haung of Pecking House and Eleven Madison Park fame. Reservations will be available on Resy for the supper club only.

“At Babe’s Diner we pride ourselves on our kid-friendly menu. Perfectly situated on Division Street, families can eat-in or take our sandwiches and milkshakes to-go and enjoy a short walk to Marine Park or Long Wharf,” said Martine Langatta.

Cavin is the proprietor of Greenberg’s Bagels in BedStuy and the West Village. He is also the cofounder of Brooklyn Best iced tea and lemonade. Shipes is an East Hampton born, and New York City based record executive and entrepreneur, specializing in music and comedy. He is the founder of GoodTalk Records.

Anthony Petty, formerly of Almond, Topping Rose House and most recently Amagansett Golf Club, will oversee the kitchen.
